Wedding Poems

Is there a better place or time to write and recite a poem for than at one's wedding? In addition, what better subject is there to write about than love! A good wedding poem can be used for a number of purposes. For instance it can be used to highlight the reception or another after party for the groom, bride and their families. Additionally, it can serve as a personal touch for the bride and the groom when they are exchanging their vows. On a greater scale it can even be used for invitations and announcements during the marriage. Whatever the purpose the nuptials poem will serve, it should be well received by the partner as well as the audience. This is the easy part; the hard one is writing or finding the right one.

Love and friendship poems when well written, perfectly capture the nature essence of a wedding. A good poem is able to evoke the feelings the bride and the groom have for each other and evoke a tear or two from the audience. Wedding and love poems can be found in wedding greeting cards, wedding gifts, books and perhaps most importantly today the internet. Before setting out to search or write a poem, decide on the length, the audience and the theme. It can touch on name of the wedding venue to give it authenticity. If in Canada for instance the poem can mention places like Ontario, Mississauga, Toronto, Brampton, Markham or Niagara Falls depending on the venue of the wedding.

When searching for a poem for a Mississauga wedding or a Toronto wedding, one can contact a Mississauga Wedding videographer or a Toronto Wedding videographer to sample some wedding poem recitals to have an idea of the content, when and how they were recited. Consider having some soft relevant background music from a wedding Dj to give the poem a nice moving background ambience. If one chooses to write the poem, first know the audience. You might be the father of the bride, the Maid of Honor, the best man or even the bride or the groom. If it is from the maid of honor or the best man to the bride and groom, it should have a personal touch with past friendships from childhood. If it from the bride to the groom or vice versa, it should be pure love poem, one laden with emotion and love with a joke to melt the tense moment and anxiety away.

Whether sought for or originally written, the poem need not be a rhyme. It should be simple, provocative and brief, with flowing language and well thought out phrases. Read it aloud over and over to ensure that each line and each word has earned a place in the meaning of the poem. Since it is a work of art, treat it as thus, beautiful to the ear and memorable to the brain.
